wow see Attack on Vanguard Publisher: Court adjourns case till April 17 next year lolz...

LAGOS—The case of those accused of robbing Vanguard Publisher, Mr. Sam Amuka, was adjourned till April 17, 2017 by an Ikeja Chief Magistrate’s Court, yesterday. 

Magistrate Bola Osunsami adjourned the case on the ground that the prosecution is still awaiting the outcome of the Directorate of the Public Prosecutions, DPP’s advice on whether a prima facie case has been established against the accused persons. 

The accused persons were ordered to be remanded in prison custody by the magistrate after they were arraigned for conspiracy, armed robbery and causing grievous bodily harm on Mr. Amuka on August 13.

They attacked Mr. Amuka in his Anthony Village home and went away with cash and valuables. 

Though the matter was called yesterday, the suspects, Koyis Usman, 22; Umaru Oseni, 46; Abdurasaq Hassan, 43; Musa Abubakar, 31; Gambno Umar, 31 and Abdulramon Kashil, 25, were not brought to court. 

The defendants were further alleged to have “caused damage to a window burglary proof, asbestos, two doors, property of Mr. Sam Amuka, and, thereby, committed an offence punishable under Section 337 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011.” 

During the time of arraignment, the plea of the defendants were not taken by the court, neither were they represented by any lawyer. 

Osunsanmi granted the request of the prosecutor and ordered them remanded in Kirikiri Prison custody...
